DELL.. Your service rocks!

A week ago, I was complaining about the 4-cell battery that was shipped with my Inspiron 700m. My battery performance degraded so much after 6 months. In fact, my laptop started to get switched off with no warning when running on battery. This indeed pissed me off but I am out of warranty period recently and was thinking to check for some good deal on web for a 6-Cell battery this time around.

I was happy for those who purchased Toshibha laptops when I heard CNN reporter from Walstreet reporting the news that Toshibha is recalling the batteries. The reporter talked in length about DELL and IBM recalling batteries supplied by Sony. I was hoping that my battery meets all the requirements to be recalled. I checked DELL website and found that my battery is not safe to operate my laptop with. I ordered for a new battery without thinking anything and they sent me a mail conformation that they would be shipping in 20 days.

DELL knows best about setting expectations of the customer. I know how many times I failed miserably in doing that effectively and realised at a later point of time. I should say I am still learning. DELL shipped the battery within a week's time and the new battery has survived for 2 straight hours wihout any issue. Let us see how long this behaves well! I am still hapy with DELL support. They are definitely impressive in all counts!
