Veerappan is all over but there are few questions that remain unanswered? There is no hope that they will get answered anytime. If they get answered, who/what will be the source is yet another question.
Veerappan milked a great amount of money through various crimes including kidnapping, poaching, smuggling etc. He did not utilize the money for upbringing some community or to acquire some assets for himself. Where is the wealth that he accumulated through the 3 decades? Does someone have that? Is the money already spent? If so, who spent and for what cause?
Next comes the question of the involvement of mainstream to protect Veerappan all these days. An editor by profession was in good touch with the gang during the Raj Kumar's episode. Something that police forces of two states could not achieve was not a big thing to do for the editor and few Tamil activists. Veeru wanted to raise a big statue for Karunanidhi also raised doubts over the level of relations. Was the money spent for political activities in the state?
Did the intelligence fail in executing the plan to nab him alive? In the first place, did they plan to nab him alive? Having your own man as the driver inside the vehicle makes things a bit easier to nab him alive. Was there ant effort from STF to nab him alive?
The last question that comes to one's mind is about the existence of his successors. If he was sure about the threat to his life from STF, didn't he plan the succession to his role? How many of his aids still survive? What do they do now without their leader? Will they continue to function? This last question will definitely find answers.
Note: Gaurav's comment on my previous post, 'Veerappan is OVER', prompted me to complie this.
