Our political parties are getting into the act of undoing whatever done by the previous governments. At the centre, we all witnessed the drop of the portfolio for disinvestments. NTPC took the same path as Maruti, which means to say that policies are much similar but something that is popular is scrapped just to gain some political mileage out of it. It definitely needs a separate cabinet berth now after all there are lot of parties that are involved now than ever before.
Mr. Rajasekhar Reddy and his colleagues have been extremely busy to undo some of the initiatives taken by their predecessors. It could be Janmabhoomi, Deepam, Velugu, etc. Now came the changing of the acronym for the e-Gov initiatives. SmartGov (smart, Moral, accountable, Responsive and Transparent) is changed to Caring Gov (Committed, Accountable, Responsive, Inspiring, Nationalist and Genuine). If the e-Gov initiatives are to cater to masses, you have find ways for effective implementation. Renaming a programme will not help for its implementation. We would be more than just happy, if this is just the beginning on the road to make it a success. I don't think Naidu thought too much about the title when someone coined that. But, Reddy seems to have caught in the fever of changing everything that was done in Naidu's rule.
