Started off well.. Good if we emerge as winners..

How does it feel to play a game that I almost forgot after my Engg. Days. I am taking about Volleyball that I played not too often but lot of times during my PEC days. Yesterday, I was asked if I could fill the position that is vacant. They wanted not a guy who can play but someone who can fill the 6th position. I thought initially not to be part of the team but thought why miss one chance that rarely comes by. We practiced for sometime to decide about the positions to take on the court. My captain still remembers that bad day when his team was humiliated in the first round match last year. How good it is to have the same team for the first round match this time too?
As the whistle blown, we started serving and things weren’t looking favorable at all. They took the early lead to 9 when we were just 1. We asked for a time out to look back and see what went wrong so far in the match and see if things could be set right. Time out really helped in every sense. We went on to win the first game. We did not give any chance for the opposition to recover in the second game. End of all, most importantly, our defensive moves won the match for us. Second match was supposedly a match against a quality side. We were told before the match that they would beat us quite comfortably in straight sets. I heard somewhere that strange things happen in sports. That is what exactly happened. We beat them in straight sets. We are in semis now. Hope, we will continue to perform and reach finals. We achieved more than what we thougt we would. Thanks to the entire team (Kallu, Shreeks, Bops, Nag, Amit/Rakesh) who were determined to win, showed lot of enthusiasm and more importantly shown the courage when we were badly in need.
