Service is the buzzword everywhere!

I still remember the days when the Asst. Engineer of our electricity substation was beaten up by some of the youngsters from my village for not giving continuous supply. There was a court case filed against few of my seniors then. Here is a time when there is an APSEB official sitting at a place distributing the computer generated electricity bills and collecting the money from the villagers ensuring them of updating into systems. I hope systems are setup in villages for updating and generating the bills. Out of curiosity, I visited the site to check the level of service from them. I was amazed to see his courteousness, patience and not the least respect for the consumer. E-Seva, AP Online are the channels through which payments are automated and an urbanite takes proud in them. A villager takes pride about the service before he avails the technological benefits.
The BSNL's offerings to villagers are also quite phenomenal. Most of my neighbors got connection in last 2/3 years time. I remember calling my uncle's home to get in touch with my family. Not so easy it was for all of us. I know some of the kids in my village call up their friends before starting for Cricket matches. It takes not more than 10 minutes for anyone to cover the whole village but kids enjoy calling their pals over phone. I happened to pick up the receiver at home and was surprised to hear the recorded voice. Recorded voice was trying to remind customer to pay the bill for the month. It needs to be upgraded soon as the recorded system does not check if the customer already paid and does not inform the customer about the billed amount. Time will resolve issues like this after all systems upgraded over a period of time.
Looks like SERVICE is the buzzword everywhere. I think everyone including all of the public holdings believe SERVICE is what drives business.
