Former Minister killed...

Telugu Desam legislator and former minister Paritala Ravindra was killed in a crude bomb attack in Anantapur town on Monday afternoon. Though the police are yet to identify the assailants, Paritala Ravindra's supporters have alleged the hand of his Congress rivals behind his murder.

This is what appeared on rediff portal. But, some regional news papers quoted that four unidentified men shot from very close distance when he was coming out of TDP office. Whatever could be the reason for his death, he is atlast finshed. Few supporters will remember this man for being helpful in eliminating their rivals. When Congress came to power, there have been numerous instances when Ravi sparred with YSR's son. There have been lot of killings in Anatapur district after Congress came to power. This news will bring mixed feelings amongst the political circles here in AP. A section of senior TDP leaders might feel better as they do not have to face the embrassment everytime a reports questions them of their claims of TDP being a party with difference. One section of TDP will feel most insecure than ever before. Assialants are not known yet but Congress will definitely be blamed. Large section of Congress supporters will cherish this day as a great victory to them.
Ravindra was a former naxalite, who joined TDP during NTR's era. He is known as a criminal but our legal systems do not have a good record of punishing people of Ravindra's stature. He has been contesting election after election with all the cases pending in courts. Someone who killed that many people deserve to be killed but this should have been the verdict given by our legal systems. But, unfortunately, law will take its own course.
