10 Minute discussion with my supervisor

My supervisor wanted to have a 10 Minute discussion with me today after lunch. During my lunch, I was just hoping that he would break the news of my release from this project. You may be curious to know the reasons for those thoughts. Two of my colleagues have been released from the relationship and the project manager made it clear to them that there are no fresh projects in hand. I have been hoping that I would make the count three. Bcoz, it has been made clear by my client in a recent telecon that there are no projects till June. Currently, we are a 10 member team and it just requires two to work on Analytics and rest on data warehousing. I thought I would be the best choice for the project leader to pick given the reason that I am relatively new to analytics compared to the other two. I was expecting him to deliver the word RELEASE when the discussion was initiated by him.
But, the discussion was all about me gaining expertise on Data warehousing and Informatica. He wanted to know if I am interested to switch at this point of time. A detailed action plan, to be executed by me, was charted out by both of us, which would engage me for 22 working days. I should gain Informatica knowledge in next three days and move on to review all the mappings in just two weeks time. At the end of this whole exercise, I should be working on performance tuning of our mappings. We both discussed the plan and it came out well. I will have to execute it well to make a mark here. I am sure I have a chance to prove in this area.
